2008 Wilderness Canoe Base Accomplishments

  1. Finished Septic infrastructure on Cove and of Pinecliff, Stillwater, Med Center, Trailshack and Morningside complex.
  2. Brought potable water infrastructure back to the Cove
  3. Remodeled Ledge and Snowshoe
  4. Added a wood stove to Beavertail for winter use
  5. Rebuilt the sauna, deck and dock.
  6. Started construction on the Trailshack, 2 camper cabins and 3 staff cabins
  7. Finished Cephas cabin
  8. Removed old electrical infrastructure and started relaying new lines.
  9. Hand dug 2 outhouse holes
  10. Replaced the kitchen range
  11. Raised $245,000 and was matched by Thrivent with another $100,000
  12. Created 2 solitude and meditation/prayer locations on Dominion Island
  13. Reopened the Janzig and Muus Trails
  14. Re-decked Chapel dock

2009: To Do

  1. Finish Trailshack,2 camper cabins, 3 staff cabins
  2. Lay all new electrical infrastructure in the cove
  3. Build 7 outhouses
  4. Replace 2 exhaust hoods in the Kitchen
  5. Replace dishwasher
  6. Create strategy to finish the rebuilding vision beyond the insurance money
  7. Build drying rack area
